Me and Wii

Many of you have asked how the Wii thing has been going after we finally managed to track one down.

Here's one sign that the Wii invasion has taken over. This is my dining room. Can you spot what doesn't belong here?Apparently the dining room is the best place to get your Wii remotes all charged and ready for Wiiing.

In truth, I'm loving the Wii. But I'm having a serious love-hate relationship with the darn Wii Fit. I love the super hula hoop and the strength and balancing exercises. They are pretty fun and I feel like I'm getting a nice little workout. What I don't like is the "oh!" sound it makes when I step on the board to be weighed. It makes an "oh!" in the "oh-my-gawd-I-think-you-are-going-to-break-me" kind of way that makes me feel more baby elephant than human.

And I was digging the motivation and how it kept track of my results. That was as long as I was on track. It seems that the industrious, skinny Japanese didn't program any concept of a vacation into the Wii Fit. So after taking a few days off to go to the lake and coming back heavier than when I left, Wii was not pleased. Wii basically told me he thought I broke up with him. He was spiteful for it. He politely told me I was a lazy, lard arse that needed to put down the twinkies and exercise and visit him every day.

If I put on a few pounds and stay away for like a week, will Wii go all HAL on me and take over and hold me prisoner? I am scared. I think for the time being I will meet his demands and visit him faithfully every day. I need to make Wii happy again. I hope my husband doesn't get jealous.

Oh, I'm hoping the Female Trainer is much nicer than the male one. I'd hate to have to bash the balance board against the wall after all the trouble it took to get one.

I love the remotes charging in the dining room! LOL

I need one of those Wii fits, but I fear it would just be another state-of-the-art game box that takes up room in the entertainment center and the playroom and gets stepped on or broken, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches stuffed in it, etc etc....

I'm embarrassed to say that I have no clue with the Wii is... I've heard about it, but I've never seen one.

We got the wii sports...not the wii fit. And I don't think I want to hear the horrid sound it might make if I stood on that board...

I'm totally trying to foster a retired greyhound. If you click on "greyhound chronicles" at the bottom of that post you can read all about it. Most of my readers are trying to talk me out of it. Bah humbug. :)

Yeah, I hear you on the whole love/hate relationship. I too hate the "Oh" it says when I stand on it. My dh and I joke that we sure did pay a lot of money to be insulted! I hate how my mii got fatter too!

Oh my! My son wants us to get Wii Fit, but now I'm not sure I can handle yet another rejection - this time from a machine!!!

I think the Wii remotes in the dining room are a perfect fit (no pun intended, really).

I SO want one of those but then I so DON'T want one of those. So I wallow in my indecision and don't have one.

If only there were a mute button when it weighed you though!

We have been discussing Wii fit but I don't think I want it if it is going to make me feel guilty about my fitness level. I have that all taken care of on my own.
I think that I will stick to Wii Sports bowling. I am the current champ in our house.

I've been hearing so much about the Wii fit and I'd been contemplating checking it out. Now, after reading your post and having an insider's view of what will happen if I'm not dedicated daily, and decide to eat pastries, well, I'm going to have to pass on the Wii. I already have a husband who likes to "gently" remind me how much better I feel when I exercise regularly.

oooooooooh i'm jealous. We have PS and XBOX 360, but no Wii, and that seems to be the one that *I* would actually like. ~sigh~ the sacrifices we make...

Yeah, people were killing me with some of their comments. I kept thinking "Did you miss the part where I said I don't do well with puke?" So yeah... pass the bucket. Thanks for stopping by!

LOL! I'm sorta kinda lusting after a Wii/Wii Fit and also sorta kinda glad I don't have one, 'cause it doesn't look sturdy enough to double as a clothes rack the way our Nordic Track elliptical machine did up in our bedroom for several years....

Cheers!

We love our Wii. We bought DDR and I can't believe how fun it is. You can actually get a workout dancing on that thing :)

We love our Wii. Family bowling night tournements are the bestest. At least it's gettin' me off my duff for a few minutes ;-).
